CSULA Afro-Latin Ensemble

Under the direction of Professor Uziel Colón Ramos, the CSULA Afro-Latin Ensemble gives students the opportunity to study and perform music from the rich traditions of Latin America and the African diaspora. Recognized as one of the nation's leading university ensembles of its kind, the group has performed with internationally acclaimed artists including Pablo Menéndez, Orestes Vilató, Frank Emilio Flynn, Edgardo Cambón, Gonzalo Chomat, Adonis Puentes, Oskar Cartaya, and Fausto Cuevas. The ensemble has also appeared at major venues and events, including the International Society for Music Education World Conference in Beijing, China, and the Ventana al Jazz Festival in Puerto Rico.
