Opening Night

The inaugural LA Jazz Festival begins with a spectacular Opening Night in the heart of historic Leimert Park. Featuring Lalah Hathaway, Kenyon Dixon, Chief Adjuah, Pete Escovedo featuring Juan Escovedo and Peter Michael Escovedo, and the Fernando Pullum Youth Band.

Opening Night takes place on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, kicking off 17 days of music, culture, and community with an inspiring celebration of jazz and its enduring influence across generations.
